When thaw finally set in, early February 2001, the snow and ice covering The Netherlands was quickly disappearing. A few days later, all what was left were a few piles of ice plate-conglomerates drifting near the dike next to lake Markermeer, reflecting in the almost perfectly still water surface. Taken in early February 2001, near Wijdenes, The Netherlands.
